My practice manager just about cried when she found out what I used in the trays as she has lots of chickens so I reckon if a sack or two disappears from the shed I know exactly where it has gone.
I can just picture your poor babe going to the toilet & it all starts vanishing from around her, that would be worth a photo or two....

I find recycled paper pellets best as they are flushable, absorbent and very little tracking. The brand I use is Breeder Celect which can be purchased online or they sell it in Pets at Home. Ive tried many different types and the biggest issues for me was tracking, mess and disposability. This one seems to be the best in these areas. Hope this helps : )

I have always used the clumping litter from Aldi, under £2 a bag.

I was just off to buy more litter, we have been using a bag of non-clumping given to us by a friend who no longer needed it :( and it is not in the same league as clumping - I can't "pooper-scoop" the wee which makes it much more wasteful. A new Aldi has just opened in town, so I'm off there now! Thanks!

The Aldi stuff clumps beautifully, BUT the bag was so heavy I could hardly lift it!!!
I'm using a corn crumb one now - excellent clumping, light as a feather, tracks all over the floor...
Maybe he can just do it outside???

There was barely any room in my bicycle basket for Sidney AND the litter!
I have moved on to World's Best. It isn't the world's best, tracks everywhere, but it is a pretty colour. It lasts for ages and now Sidney has learnt to poop before I leave in the morning, so it gets emptied straight away, smell is no longer an issue.

I swear by pine pellets. They seem to absorb the smell and there is practically no tracking what so ever. I actually buy the pellets in bags used for horse bedding as it is the cheapest. They are 100% pine with no chemicals added. The pellets turn to sawdust when peed on and the poop is just scooped away. I would never go back to clumping litter.
