Well the ears are certainly there, paws are as big as my adult cats and tail is starting to fluff up (it's so cute and soft) so that's all happening. I've also noticed his tail is getting longer, it's so beautiful even in it's current pre-brush stage. No sign of the neck ruff yet though (not sure when that is due).
The kitchen counter is his new favourite place. I woke up this morning to find him on top of my kitchen shelves, pushing bits an pieces onto the counter/floor. Crazy cats
I've always thought that Kenny doesn't realise just how big he is - he flies around like the kitten he really is and he's always nearly falling off things - he's like a big clumsy clown. He will suddenly take off, jumping on the kitchen counters and tearing around the room. He's now long enough to reach up and grab things off the counters so he doesn't even have to jump now to cause mayhem!
By the way, it's his 1st birthday today so it's definitely Kenny party time!

The ruff usually grows in when they're near full growth, like a beard on a man except the girls grow them too.
My Samantha's ruff didn't get really full until she was around 2 years old, it's like the icing on the cake and really fill the transition between head and body and gives them their regal look.
I didn't realised the ruff appeared so late. I had been worrying my girls weren't going to get them, but at only 6 and 7 months old perhaps I'm being too eager!
It might be different with other Maine Coons and i'st been 14 years but I remember Samantha Ruff not filling out until she was pretty much full grown at 2, she did continue to fill out for several years until at about 5 she hit her peak f about 17 lbs.
Mufasa got his ruff at around 19 - 20 months, I remember it clearly because I used to be so envious of all the lovely photo's on here of coonies with gorgeous ruffs and I was convinced he wasn't going to get one at all. He's now 26 months and has a long, fluffy ruff. He has been weighed tonight at the vets and is 22.2lbs (now I know why I can't lift the box with him in it). I did ask if he was overweight and the vet said "He's not really overweight, he's generous". :LOL:

Ohhh I'm hoping my Leo's ruff is going to be as spectacular as I'm predicting. I've noticed his tabby lines have come around the front of his neck in rings so the bottom of his ruff will start cream ring, black ring then cream ring... Then up the top under his chin it's weird, it's like a dull grey with cream tips (his mum silver and his dad smoke) so I'm thinking that part will be special.

I meant it's been about 14 years since Samantha's Ruff filled out, I remember wondering when it was going to come in and then that winter as her coat thickened she got her Ruff.

I would love to get another Coonie and plan to someday but right now Chiquita my 12 year old Moggie deserves to be #1 after spending the 10 years since my ex left her behind when we split as 2nd to Samantha in Papa's heart, shes been a great comfort since and is a wonderful cat, but Samantha my soul kitty.

I was starting to think my two are not cats as they are so not gracefull!! They trip, slide and slip! They are know as rampaging hippos when they start, bless them (or words to that effect).
