Hi there!
I get this with my MC when I brush him. I guess its cause their
Fur is so fine, just like people with fine hair! It usually falls flat after a few minutes.
I think if she is enjoying being brushed its not too often : )
I have gotten static on my MC and my moggies whenever I used the boar hair bristle brush on their tails. Their body hairs tend to show more static when I brush them in the winter months.
I think it's the winter weather - ours are the same. Also get static shocks when we stroke them - if you touch their noses it makes them jump (not that I do it on purpose of course )
You can get anti-static sprays designed specifically for grooming cats, they also help to condition the coat. They do tend to be a bit pricey, but if your cat loves to be groomed as much as mine, then it's nice to be a bit indulgent sometimes!
Added bonus is the nice fragrance they can leave behind!
