Title says it all really! Dixie is nearly 6 months old and has been doing this the last month or so now if she can manage to sneak in to the bathroom. She uses the litter tray with no problems and has never done anything else in the bath - if she can't get in, she just goes the tray. Has anybody had one do this before or know why?!
Things took a turn for the worse this morning when she got in the bath and peed while hubby was having a shower.... I shouldn't laugh!:nod:

You have two Beautiful kittens! I am toilet training Ginger and the other night she knocked the toilet lid down and she must have scared her self because the next day she pooped in the bath tub. A few times that I switched to a larger ring too fast she has used the tub instead of the toilet. I just put a couple of inches of water in the bottom of the tub to discourage her from using it as a litter box. But if she is willing to pee while the hubby is showering that may not work! OMG good luck with that :)

Thanks donnad - Ginger is a sweetie! I just wonder why the bath, does it feel like a huge litter tray?! I'll try and leave a few inches of water in it for next few weeks as you suggest. It probably won't stop her getting in as she loves water, but she may not be willing to sit down & pee in it lol. We can always just keep the door closed of course, but as they're house cats I want them to have free run of the house as much as possible. She doesn't always pee in it, she also likes to roll around in it & wrestle with Beau ��
Oh so sorry PandK but I had to laugh...sorry to your hubby too...... actually perhaps he should think himself lucky daughters cat had to be banned from the bathroom as a young kitten as she found certain things were good to launch at & hang off....need I say more,tears come to the eyes at the thought.....
I have also had cats pee in the bath in the past & haven't taken too much notice as I have very often found that the door was shut to their room but a good idea just to leave some water in & see if it deters her or try closing the door for a couple of weeks just to see if that is long enough to get the bath out of her mind as a litter tray....

Pandk, Ihave had a few cats that have had a wee in the sink and the bath, they all positioned there bottoms over the plughole and went!!! I have no idea why!!!
It's nice to know she's not such an odd-ball then lol. Sounds like I might need to watch out for the sink next!! I have no idea why they think it's ok in the bath/sink but don't do it anywhere else! Perhaps they can smell the drains via the plug hole or something... ah well, another one of the mysteries of owning a cat!
Update - filled the bath and basin with water and it works, but she moved on to the kitchen sink!!�� I now have a bath, a basin & a sink filled with 3 inches of water... I did have to go round the house rescuing drowning cat toys this morning lol.
Just luv it,pretty bright aren't they,one step ahead of parents is what I always think......xxx

I can confirm, mine likes the bathtub a lot, but she has only peed in it once: when her litter was dirty. Otherwise all she does is roll around in it in the morning when HO has a shave, tries to burry it in imaginary dirt, things like that...
And she hasn't drowned her toys anywhere for a while either... she used to, but the best toys are paper balls I throw for her to catch and play with, and she has worked out that paper doesn't like water, I believe, so she doesn't do it any more. :rofl:
