No sorry we use clumping litter that gets licked around enough without the added attraction of a liner to dig up to
Haha not a chance with a Maine Coon, sorry.
We use the extra giant own brand Pets At Home liners as they last the longest but they all end up in shreds.
Oh joy!! They are still on wood pellets as thats what they are used to! We tend to pick them up and give them a shake to get it off their feet!
We are going to move them onto a clumping litter soon or Yesterdays News does any one rate it??
I have'nt seen that one but would be interested to know what its like. We used to use Nature Cat Gold but they have stoped doing it :pissed: so are trying Sophisticat Tidy cat & erm well not as good :sad1:
We tried Yesterday's News, and it is quite clean, but we have one very fussy girl, who we have had trouble with when changing litters. She did not like the YN (or most of the other litters we have tried, for that matter). The advantage of the YN is that it is pellets, so doesn't get tracked around as much. Some cats may not like the very different feel of it, however. That is one of the issues we read about when having litter issues: some cats are fussy about the feel of the litter on their feet, and if it is too coarse or too fine, they will not want to use it.
Right now we use Fresh Step (clumping clay) in two boxes and World's Best (corn) in the third box. They both get tracked out of the boxes though, so have to vacuum around the boxes every few days. Nothing beats the clay litters for holding down poo smells, in my opinion.
I use Catlux which is a softwood clumping litter.
It clumps really well, so the litter box is easy to clean and also keeps all the odours out. I had a lot of trouble with the clay and odour but this stuff is great. Unless it's a fresh poo there is no smell what so ever and I have 2 trays inside atm.
The cats don't really track any out of the trays, it doesn't stick to their paws, but I have a mat that the cats walk on and that seems to pick any stray litter up.
The cats also love using it. I picked up some clay for Gryfn as that was what he was used to, but he totally bypassed the tray that had that in it and used the tray with the softwood in it.
We dont have to much of a problem with trailing litter as I usually have to hoover every other day because of spots they shed their fur twice a year 6 months in the spring & 6 months in the autum
What is a zoom groom? We have two large hairy dogs that seem to be forever malting too - and I have to hoover a lot! Simba's bit of litter mess is nothing in comparison:LOL: I use World's Best and as I've never used any other's I've nothing to compare it to but it seems to do the job and clumps well - easy to pick up and drop in the toilet. Doesn't do much to disguise the smell though - unless you are super fast at emptying it after he has been:LOL:
