Minimum age for choosing a kitten
Hi,
I'm just about ready (after 18 months of research and waiting for the right time) to get my very first MC, well very first cat in fact :) im really excited but don't want to rush into anything blindly. I've found an amazing breeder who has let me come visit her & her cats on a regular basis despite the fact that I haven't been in a position to buy for a while and I roughly know what I'm looking for in terms of kitten sex/colour.
With the all that in mind, I was wondering at what age people generally choose their kitten at? Or what age it is expected for you to choose at/put a deposit down? I'm getting 2 kittens and ideally I'd like to have one that is showable but I know this can be tricky to tell until later on - any ideas on what age this should be more apparent by? Also I read lots of stories about the kitten choosing you, but do they have much personality at 4wks/6wks/8wks/etc??
I don't want to pick kittens too early based on colour/sex when personality and temperament are more important.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)
