Pedigree Certificate Query

Just wondered if anyone could offer me any advice as to whether or not I should have any concerns.

Having never owned a pedigree before, when we collected Gracie from the breeder in September we were given a pedigree certificate along with the kitten pack etc.

It wasn't until we collected Monty and were given the pink GCCF transfer slip that we realised that we didn't receive this for Gracie. On getting Gracie's details out to contact the breeder, I've just realised that her pedigree certificate (which is photocopied) has the original breeder's name tippexed out and replaced with the breeder from which we obtained our girl.

Now I'm hoping that this is nothing suspicious and that you can reassure me, but the original breeder's name which was tippexed out is a name which when I input into Google brings up links to previous poor experiences of sick cats being bred.

I do hope I am worrying unnecessarily and I have emailed the breeder and am waiting for a reply, but I wondered if anyone out there might think of a valid reason for this?

Normally the pink certificate is not handed over until the animal is neutered & you send proof so was Gracie not done when you had her but Monty was ?
Does seem a bit suspicous though I don't like things tipexed especially when it should be an "official document",hopefully you will soon hear back & everything will be ok,you are in your rights though to question it especially now you have got one that shows how it should be.....

If the kitten is on the non active register some breeder will give you the pink slip, some however will not until the kitten is neutered.

Tipex or crossing out should not be accepted in any form if the mother cat or any cat has changed hands all the original documentation should stay as is.

My advice contact the GCCF with the registered names of the parents and the GCCF numbers to see who's names the parents are actually in. they will then look in to it if it is not correct, if you paid a good price for your kitten all the documentation should be in the correct order.
