    Do WeReally Want Another One??

The wife mentioned when she was at the SPCA, the day she picked up Ran - Gan, there was another MC there also. She keeps mentioning it, even saying she should have taken that one too. Don't know about that! With three cats now, we run the risk of becoming the neighbor hood cat people, you know, like the crazy woman who kept fifty cats even though she couldn't feed herself. Not that we're in that situation. Ran-Gan has been to the Vet numerous times to get his health under control from being at the shelter. I imagine another feline from there would have similar problems. Then too, it looks like we have Psycho cat for the duration and he has gone to the Vet though he isn't ours, well wasn't ours but who knows now. And let's not forget Sidewinder, no problem there but she is another cat in the house. Do I really want another cat around the place? Keeping after the litter boxes alone would be an increased chore.

This other MC is also older, over 7 yrs possibly 10 or more. Set in its ways like me, don't know its disposition.

Maybe I should get a dog. Nah! Sidewinder would prob'bly hurt it.

Oh I see what your wife is doing !!! lol I think you should have another baby, it will keep you young !!! lol and so so so glad to hear that Psycho is part of the family now. I am sure another baby would fit in no problem, the love you get from rescue animals is just second to none in my opinion, aw go on...............you know you want to !!!! lol What will you call it by the way ? lol

    Whyemier,
That is awesome! I think a 7-10 yr old feline does not have much of a chance of being adopted as everyone wants a kitten. Yes kittens are cute and all but they can be a pain. And besides that you would still be 46 cats away from being crazy cat people

Whyemier, I wouldn't want another baby personally - having one running around the house and worrying that Norman Bates would get him would be a bit too much for me - seeing as Neevie-the-Pirate might also have tendancies at Norman-Bateness sometimes... - I would go for that MC - 7 isn't that old, yes he's set in his ways but frankly the ways of a cat that's been at a rescue center for a while can't be too demanding - if he's normal in his head it woud be a nice balance to Norman Bates, and if he's healthy he can be a nice balance to Ran-Gan - and if not, at least you'll have given him some chance for love...
but look at you, you're asking the opinion of a bunch of MC loving women - what other answer were you going to get? ;-)

hahaha yes, this is so true! I would have another cat if my hubby would allow it, but alas two beagles, one adopted and a Maine Coon is all he will allow. At one point I had 3 cats, 2 German Shepherds, a fish tank and a cockatiel! Sadly after twenty years they all died of old age :( But on the bright side they all lived good long lives.

I feel that I do have to add my bit to this thread & no way as a woman would I ever , ever recommend getting another MC be it adult or babe, I feel one is the most you could ever want of this particular breed & no way should anyone be asked to cope with more,I myself would not have more than one.........but.....ok..............ok............ ... five MC furries are trying to say I am not telling the truth, having gone down to 5 back to 6 & now only 5 again I am just trying to work out how to get up to that magic number again.....I am sure one day there will be another one there for us but until then .....
I lied I am a woman who would have more & more & more & in the right situation would have rescues in the mix too,our first MC was a retired breeding queen she was a sod putting it mildly but with her came our love of the MC's & we ended up with a big luv bug once she learnt the house rules so go for it Mrs W & let us know how Mr W gets on,perhaps you will have an extra "set in it's ways" in the house.....xxx
