Wow that sounds awesome! I love gardening also, this spring has been cold and wetter than usual. I love how your hubby just jumps in! Lake Superior can be very cold also, it will wake you right up! We have several large bodies of water here in Minnesota. Lake Superior, Leech Lake and Mille Lacs Lake. I love to walk on the beaches and play in the water. Minnesota is just south of Canada, the lakes stay very cool until August and then it gets warm with icky bugs and swimming is done for the year.

Think of it as ice floating in water, the wind pushes it onto the shore and it does happen every spring! I have friends that live on the lake and they have locks on the cupboards so their dishes do not fall out when the ice comes in to shore. Mother nature always amazes me.
