Why, Why, Why !

Yes once again why my bed !!!!! Went out today, just for five minutes, come back home to find Teddy lying on my bed with an empty bottle of blackcurrant cordial between his paws !! My duvet cover, duvet, bottom sheet, and feather bed topper soaked !! Oh I could have screamed. Why didnt he take it to his bed and soak that (he has his own duvet when he wants space), but no it had to be mine so spend the day taking duvet and topper to laundrette and washing the rest of the bedding. Thank goodness it didnt reach the mattress !! I know it was my fault for leaving the bottle within his reach, but to be fair he has got a far to long reach in my opinion !!! lol I suppose it is better than the day I came home to find all my living room furniture in the back garden !! I had not locked the back door, my fault again, and Harriet (another dane I had) had taken the two armchairs and settee out into the back garden, the coffee table was in the hall ! Sometimes I wonder why I have danes !!! pmsl

So I know your cats cant drag out furniture into your back yard but what kind of things do they do, and please bear in mind that I will be having one of these little cutie pies in my house soon !!! lol

OMG so funny! I dont know what blackcurrant cordial is, but it sounds delish! two paws up ;) My Miss Ginger loves to pull the keys off of my hubby's laptop computer when he forgets to shut the lid. And it is not bad enough that she pulls off the buttons and chews them, but she has reconfigured it also :( bad kitty. Needless to say she is banned from the office unless someone is in there! She is lucky that she is so cute!

Donna I would go hairy if anything happened to my keyboard !!! Mental note to self, Frazer does not get near computer !! lol But isnt she just a wee clever kitty, taking the keys of, how clever is that !

Oh cordial is a concentrate of the fruit that you add water to to make a drink ! lol

I can't wait to hear about all of the trouble Teddy and Frasier will manage to get into together. I think you might be in trouble... But the laughter will be well worth every mess! Teddy sound rather sophisticated liking his cordials, I hope he has a smoking jacket.

pmsl! :rofl: that is soooo funny! the cordial (which is a kind of concentrated fruit juice you add to water, so very sticky and siruppy) is a very fun thing but the furniture... what on earth went to the dog's head?? must have needed the space for something? a party perhaps? did it smell like expensive cognac and cigar in the house when you came back Chris? :-D

well, now Neevie is much calmer, she's not so prone to naughtiness any more... but when she was a kitten, well basically try to think of a place where you do NOT want your cat to be, the cat's there... it was like "naaaah why would she knock all the stuff off that very high shelf (that I see no way she can get to) overnight, we're safe..." and yet in the morning the shelf is emptied out, all the stuff having been pushed down by a very naughty paw and most of it shattered on the floor... "naaaah how could a cute little kitty like that break off the microphone off my very expensive headset that I use for work" yet in the morning the microphone mysteriously finds itself on the oposite corner of the room from the headset, with telltale chewmarks all over both parts... of course done in a way that makes it totally irreparable... Sigh.
now the last really naughty thing she did was: open the cabinet where I keep (kept, changed since) her dry food bag, and drag said bag out of the cabinet, tipping it over in the process, to help herself. The bag weighs 4 kilos. Neevie 6 and a half. Sigh.
oh and also, once we left her home overnight while we went to London - we came back home to "Neevie's revenge", she had opened all the kitchen cabinets, and pretty much emptied everything. I guess she was bored. A few things had ended up in her water bowl, too, like packets of rice... The food in her bowl was still only half eaten, so she wasn't hungry and looking for food.... Sigh again.

Well lets just say the hubby no longer has a "2" key and it took hours to get it back up and running hahaha. Another thing my lil Princess likes to do is pull all of the rubber bands (binders) out of the junk drawer and stash them under the ottoman. I can only assume she is stealing cash and amassing a large wealth and needs these to keep her booty neat! Now we have to make sure the drawer is shut tight! She keeps me on my toes that is for sure!

Alekto, No shelf is safe when you have a pirate in the house! I can see her knocking your stuff down and laughing in her little kitten laugh hahahhaha that will teach the humans! she sounds like a handful, but worth it I am sure! I know I love my little monster, gotta run...... Ginger put that down!!!!

PS: I was just showing the results of my shopping trip of yesterday to a friend on skype - I bought some really cute outfits for the nieces (by the way if I don't come back on the forum it means HO saw the bill on that ;-)) and as I was putting them down the pirate started biting them and dragging them towards her like "I want that - that's nice - it's mine" - I had to shut her off in another room! I guess she'll start wearing my dresses and heals soon... :-D (OK in fact I think she was after the labels attached to the outfits but hey....)

KimAZ it was his ears that were smoking by the time I had finished giving him a lecture !!! lol I was mumping and moaning at him whilst stripping the bed !!! lol You are right to I think about the things that they will get up to together, its going to be two against one I think, I better be on my toes with the both of them !! lol

Sounds as if you need child proof locks on your kitchen cupboards Alekto !! lol Oh and works head set, not good !! lol I can see I am going to have as much trouble from my cat as well as my dog !! lol

Sounds like she gets up to all sorts Donna, I hope Frazer keeps out of drawers, I have so much rubbish in some I would hate it hidden under anything, like the bed !! lol

heehee so funny! Neevie really needs a great incentive to open cupbord, drawers etc... actually she never learned the trick of opening a shut door by jumping on the handles, unlike my 2 sisters cats - I think that's because she just has to walk towards a door for me to go open it for her, and now hopefully she's 2 and a half she might not learn. In a way it's a bit of a shame because I'd like to be able to tell people "my cat is so clever she opens doors" but it's safer that way... ;-)

Haha yes Alekto, you are lucky Neevie does not open doors. Just think of all the mischief that little pirate could get into. Ever since I got Ginger I know I need to vacuum under my bed, she find the biggest wooly boogers! Here we have knobs, my boy Buster would walk up and hit the door with his paw, if they were not closed tight he would walk on in. There was never any privacy in that house. Now my Beagle Bentley, opens the cupboard door where his food is kept with his nose, its a good thing he don't have thumbs!

Alekto I have those old cast iron thumb locks on my doors and I thought no-one would work it out, oh how wrong was I, Teddy is a master at it just hope Frazer doesnt catch on !!! lol

We had three cats when my daughters were in Jr high and high school. (Samantha, the ring leader and the brains and the boys, Humphrey and Hank). Sam could open all of our interior doors. We always had to warn guests when using the powder room to lock the door. We use to go skiing every weekend, leaving the cats behind. One Sunday evening we returned to find cat nip spread all over the kitchen and family room. It was everywhere! The cats (had to be Samantha) had opened the cabinet in the laundry room where kitty things were kept, pulled out the large bag of catnip, opened it and they had a heck of a party! :drool1: I miss that crew. Now we have Buzz and Baxter, clever at turning on water and flushing potties but haven't never even tried to open a door. I guess they all have their talents.
