well I had a chat with HO last night - and he was very stressed due to work issues - I introduced him to Lilly and explained the plan - he said that it was out of the question because if Neevie doesn't take to the little one Lilly will be toast and it would really make us both very very unhappy - better to find her a nice cat-less family here in France rater than put her through the ordeal of travelling so far to become saussage meat for an Monster Cat.... I have to say I see the wisdom in this - but I am mad about the cat already.... doh! to be continued...

Ahhh don't you just hate when the OH has to use wisdom? I think when ever you bring a new pet home there will be some tension, but who knows maybe a pal is what Neevie needs? Good luck with the tough decision, I know you will do what is right for Lillyblack. I am sure Jackie has some good advice

I do think someone has to show wisdom & unfortunately us with OH's seem to suffer from it,what can one say... I would suggest before getting yourself tied up too much take babe to a vets & get it aged as near as possible,with the vaccine over here they have to be 3 months of age before rabies can be given so using logic if babe is eight weeks by the time she is old enough to have the rabies vacc you will be home & either you have got to get mum on board to look after her get her vaccinated & pack her on her way so perhaps looking at things from the other side you might have to take a very sensible path & think about finding her a French home but if vet thinks she is of an age where she can be done & you can sort travel arrangements in time then I wouldn't worry about giant Neevie the other end, it's either going to be luv at first sight or an introduction that is going to take a bit of patience & love on all sides,there is that a most diplomatic reply....xxx

if there wasn't that worry about Neevie, Jackie, I would GLADLY go through all the vaccines and passports and transportation and .... everything.

We are talking pack animals here,yep you do get some loners & you can't get away from that but at the very worse you have to be prepared to have two cats who either tolerate each other or at very worse one has one side of the house & the second one the other......!!!!!! I had no trouble introducing the first three & it was only when my mate Merl arrived that we had trouble in the pack with hissing etc but it was a great day when they finally accepted him {it happened a while before it was shown openly sooooo many times we had come home & peeped through the window to see them all lying together but by the time we got in he would be on his own with the others telling us just how awful it was having him in the household}as to the larger ones flattening the little ones,they don't,Pansy P our little flat chested MC is treated with great respect by the larger ones who in their turn mother the babes anyway,they can get a bit over enthusiastic at playtime but a shriek from babe will soon pull them up,all of mine except Ruby plus my daughters MC's have led a very comfortable life alongside guinea pigs & indoor rabbits in the past & by that I mean laying & playing with them so I would have no fear of Neevie sitting on & squishing L,sometimes these little creatures are sent to us for a reason so head to the vets & find out where you stand age wise & start planning....please don't let OH read this as it isn't such a diplomatic reply this time was only trying to make you think logically before......xxxx
