Laid up with a broken ankle

I managed to break my ankle a couple of weeks ago, just by falling over in a dead faint. I even had to have a plate and a screw put in it, so it's all been quite a shock. I'm not allowed to put any weight on it at all for the time being so I've been at home recuperating with the help of the lads.

Oh bless, what a thing to have happen to you, have they found out why you fainted....? The one good thing is obviously having prime time with your furries but not the bestest way to get it although Herbie & Monty seem to have taken advantage of having mum immobile pretty quickly, healing hugs & cuddles from us all....xxx

I am sorry to hear about the broken ankle! I hope you feel better soon and they figure out why you fainted. It is nice to have so many friends to keep you company while you recuperate! I on the other hand am just a klutz, I tripped over my sister's sidewalk and landed on a tree root. I thought I broke my ribs, the doc says they are just bruised but they hurt like heck!

Thanks everyone! It was very painful for the first week and I really leaned on the painkillers they gave me. But then it was really OK, just had to be careful to keep my balance on the crutches. Today they took the cast off and fitted me with an air boot which means I can start to walk on it a bit, and it already feels much better. Don't know why the faint happened, as I've never fainted before, so still need to investigate this with the docs as I don't want to do it again!!

Oh dear donnad, I do hope you feel better soon. Bruised ribs are awful!

What lovely company you have. Luckily they don't want to sprawl out upon your broken ankle. My 20 pound Storm cat would always try to lay atop my broken foot When I broke my tailbone, I had to lay on my side, so my Storm would drape himself across my hips. I wonder if your boys try to heal your ankle.

Well none of them have tried to sit on my foot so far! But they are definitely helping by keeping me company and chilling out with me. I had my cast removed yesterday and the surgeon was happy for me to have an air boot instead which means I can start gradually putting weight on it. So glad I can stop hopping around!

What a relief it is when the cast comes off, isn't it? And such a blissful bath-time after! (If the kitties will allow you, of course). Your poor leg.

And your boys are beautiful! You must be the best lap EVER for them at the moment.

Aw what a shame, I am so sorry to hear that you are laid up. I can see that babies are making sure you feel better. Hope you are back up and on the mend soon.
