Any exotic pet keepers?
Not quite 'furries' but pets all the same! We keep Arachnids and also have a snake. We have rescued a lot of reptiles in the past but stopped after we had our first child as it was just too much. They are very time consuming and expensive to get back to health. Much more so than cats or dogs.
Anyway at the moment we have a Salmon Pink Birdeater Tarantula, a Scorpion, some stick insects and some millipedes. We also have a Duprasi, also known as a Fat tail gerbil.
Heres a pic of the Duprasi, i think she's the cutest thing ever! Although has turned very aggressive now, something they are well known for.

I used to have a bearded dragon lizard. He was a great wee chap- he used to tap his nose on the glass when he wanted out for a run around and snuggle under my jumper with me on the couch. I'm certain he enjoyed certain types of music as well- he would 'dance'. Sorry but scorpions creep me out! My friend has lots of scorpions in her house in las Vegas but not out of choice!

Yeah Beardies are great little reptiles. Totally mad and always hungry. lol!
I love Scorpions, they are amazing to watch! Mind you i could imagine someone who gets dangerous or aggressive ones coming into their house would not be so keen.

Yup, I have a beautiful rat called Smudge, who is now 3.5 years old and still going strong :-)
Moshi is terrified of her and I'm waiting to see what Moto thinks about her lol! Rats are such amazing creatures and so full of personality and affection, it's magic :-)

Wow smudge is doing very well! Ive had rats since i was a child but when my last boy went i decided not to get any more (for now!) He was a great little guy, very loving and licky. They are definately fantastic pets but their lifespans make them heart breakers thats for sure!

I lost her sister back in October, which was when I decided to get Moshi ... and for that very reason, longer lifespan!
Pepper was nearly 3, so she didn't do too badly, but they're so kissy and licky and affectionate, that it's like losing a cat or a dog, but in such a short space of time. Very sad :-(

Exactly, they are fantastic pets. Floyd would run to you when you called him, when he went into the vet to get neutered the vet thought it was fantastic that he knew his name! lol
I dont think ill never get more rats but not right now, Floyd was very special.

ooooo duprasi :001_wub:
My boyfriend has finally given in and says I can have one when we move house  He says I've been going on for so long now I must really want one . . .
I have a leopard gecko called Eddie Vedder and in a couple of days I'll have beardie, a friend of my sister was bought one and doesn't look after it so they offered it to my parents and I asked if I could have him, apparently hes very overweight  I have lots of "normal" pets too, guinea pigs, rabbit, cockatiel, I've cut down over the past year due to feeding a maine coon lol
My dad keeps looooooads of exotics, 2 Iguanas, chameleons, 30ish tarantulas, water dragon, birds of prey and many many more!!

We had a wonderful rat called Fidget, who we all loved, they are fantastic pets but I could never have another one... we reacently got two hamsters, Sam and Carla, they are sooo cute and again super pets, but I hate the idea how short their lives will be, in fact Carla had to have her eye removed two weeks ago! We came back from the Kernow and her eye was enormous, I bathed it in saline until I could get her to the vets; spent a terrible day worrying about her couldn't even tell my daughter that her pet was going in for such major surgery... but Carla is fine now.
We used to have a pygmy goat, two flocks of pedigree chickens, one Dartmoor pony and a lovely rabbit, called Smoky (who died at seven and a half years). But now I only have the eight MCs, one Siamese and two huge, very ott dogs (a GSD and his son a Golden Shepherd)
