Think my boy will outgrow his bed soon any recommendations?
I agree -- That's what we have, and it serves as a multipurpose MC pleaser.
I can only speak for myself, but Dakota quickly outgrew any cat beds that we purchcased. We attempted high quality dog beds and he would rather be with us or sleep in a box with his favorite blanket. :winkwink:
Yes Mufasa has a command centre under our bed too, however he does have a good quality medium sized dog bed. He totally ignored it for about a year despite me placing it in different positions around the house! I decided to give it to an animal shelter but had the brilliant 'last ditch' idea of placing it under a radiator on the tiled kitchen floor. It now had a lot of use and he loves to lay in it.
In the kitchen they each have a blanket on a chair and they each have a preference for which chair they go on. In their own room Arnold has a recliner chair, Jock an office chair and Lily sleeps on an under desk shelf. In the living room, Jock sleeps on the scratch post, Lily on a cushion and Arnold on my chest as near to my face as he can get. Upstairs they all sleep in various spots on the Catrix and Lily now and then on the bed. She is also keen to have a kip in the bathroom next to the toilet. My old boy always sleeps at the foot of the bed and rarely anywhere else.
The cat beds are completely redundant and are going into storage at the weekend.
Take a box slightly smaller then your Maine Coon Cat place some items of clothing that you have worn but not washed and kitty will endeavor to squeeze his big body in and be quite cozy, pricy beds are just a waste of money.
One of Samantha's sleeping spots was the old laundry basket with some worn blankets in it.
Forgot about our old, smelly laundry basket! Dakota hides in there, thinking no one can find him (yeah, right)! He falls asleep there sometimes.
When we got Dakota, we really wanted a classic tabby "MC"-looking cat. After waiting months, a breeder close to us told us she had fur-babies - 3. They were all silver and looked almost identical. When Kota snuggled up to his new "dad' - we were forever in love! There was no giving him back. I now favor the silver MCs too. :shy:
I've always been partial to solid blue cats (have had one most of my life). I know that folks say color doesn't matter, but every solid blue I've had is purrsonality-plus and smart as a whip. Blue Bear continues the tradition. He's only 8 lbs, but has an MC heart & mind - he constantly amazes and entertains us (if he only had thumbs). Dakota literally worships his big brother!
