My breeder recommended whiskas simply wet food as it's what they were used to at her place, and as far as I can gather one of the benefits of wet food is the increased moisture they consume over dry food. If cats get too dehydrated(and I've read ey're not naturally that good at sufficiently hydrating themselves at the best of time) they can end up with cystitis and urinary issues. Mine have always had two pouches a day with a ready supply of kibble all day for grazing. They've both been on hills natures best kibble for months and both really like it, plus it doesn't give them runny bottom syndrome (rc Maine coon did). No cheaper than rc though. Mine didn't like go cat kibble - more runny bottom syndrome!) but got on well with iams. I'd have been happy to stick with iams but saw the video candes posted of the iams lab - couldn't bring myself to boost their profits after that, so hills it is!
