Thread: stud tail ?

Sounds like stud tail to me, but get it checked out... I bred a lovely cream boy and was going to keep him but in the end sold him at about ten months, as he was getting bullied!

His new owner rang me about two months later, the glands in his tail had severly impacted and the oil couldn't escape thru them so the whole area was a minefield of pus filled blackheads! Guess who had to go back the next day with 'goop' and shampoo. He behaved really well and put up with my squeezing and washing and was neutered when his tail had healed. It took about three months but his tail never impacted with greasy muck again, I think his fur had covered the problem and as his new owner was long sighted she hadn't seen the small spots until they had grown and started to bleed!

Goop is a white greasy gel that you rub into oily areas on your cat's coat, after five minutes it is washed off with cat shampoo in the shower... it really does work and is available on the purrsonal touch website.
