hi, one of my cats gets that, too. My vet has no concerns. I just use a tissue to clean it up. If it is stuck to the fur or skin, try dampening the tissue with warm water. Or try applying a triple antibiotic cream / lotion to soften it up. Then finish off with lots of kisses.

Teething can also cause it so until he has a full set of adult dentures may continue for a while but hopefully if that is the cause you will see some improvement a little way down the line, think RW252 has it right though, keep cleaning & kissing....x

When we adopted Mufasa he was getting over an upper respiratory infection - he was a year old. For quite a few months after we were having to wipe off black crusty stuff from his nose. Like Whiskey the vet checked him and said there was nothing wrong just that he may get this on and off for the rest of his life. Now he is 2 and I haven't had to clean his nose for some months now. I don't know if he's over it or having a long break, or just more healthy now (he was in a state when he went into the rescue home). Certainly doesn't seem to worry him at all. Yes keep cleaning and kissing I think . . . .
