coughing/hissing

So this am Ginger being the monster she is was running around like crazy, which she does every morning. Then she stops and does this little cough/hissing thing, like heh heh hiss ok that was kinda weird. So being the paranoid mom I am I start watching her and having all kinds of crazy thoughts, is something in her throat? did she eat something poisonous? OMG! Now I am looking at her eyes and they are dilated, she has been running around like crazy. I gave her some treats, she ate those no problem. Then I gave her a little cream, drank that ok. I was still thinking she was acting strange. But maybe it is just how she acts and now I am micro managing her behavior? Well she has calmed down and so have I. Now for my question, has your cat ever exhibited strange behavior that made you think they were ill? I think I am attached to this little girl and God forbid anything ever happens to her!
