Just sacked my vet
We are a small practice,I always class us as "The Corner Shop" in the veterinary world
but it is great when people comment on how friendly it is & that we know all our clients personally as well as their animals. We do also take blood though from the jugular vein,a lot quicker & easier & have lot less trouble with the cats by just tipping their heads up & talking to them while it is being done, have found it a lot less stressful for all concerned. Have had the odd cat that has had to be sedated for this procedure but normally they are the ones that try to lash out as soon as you touch them, great fun & has on occasions been cat 1 staff 0...
Hope you soon get things sorted because the one thing we all need is a surgery & vet where we all feel happy & confident. My daughter has just moved away & I went with her & one of the cats to the new vets for the cats annual booster, always think it is a good way to introduce yourself & weigh things up,one of the first things we do at boosters is check ID chip, they didn't even ask if the cat had one but everyone was very friendly & an older vet came to see us when she heard there was a big MC in the consult room so we came away feeling that they cared & show an interest,so fingers crossed, otherwise she has a four hour drive to come back here, not ideal !
