So sad to hear about Arthur… the last thing you want is an unhappy kitty. I agree with Tivicoons. Chances are it's temporary.
In the meantime you could check this stuff out
TREATING ANIMALS WITH Bach Flower Essences®
I have never tried it myself, but I’ve heard of some good results with it.
