All good suggestions except the one about the videos, haha!
I am pilling my ancient moggie twice a day with thyroid medication and it's over in seconds. I sit him on my lap with his back to me, tilt his head up and open his mouth with my left hand, then with my right hand pop the pill in as far back as possible. Then hold gob shut and stroke chin. Job done! Even so, the pill does still occasionally appear on the floor so I have to do it again. But this is how I've always dealt with pills and I'm pretty confident with it.
Until Monty. What a nightmare! Turns out he's my pilling nemesis. He is so wild. There is no way on this earth or in this universe that me, OH or anyone else is going to shove a pill down him. We even have a huge fight on our hands just applying Frontline spot-on. Thing is, he's a lovely natured well socialised cat, and it's not that he's traumatised by it. He's just one of those cats with his own agenda thank you very much, and he resents the imposition. It's a battle of wills and when he wins, he laughs at us.
Hmmm sounds familiar :s
