I am from South Australia and am looking forward to a bit of cooler weather. I went to England and Ireland during our winter in July to catch someone elses summer! Unfortunely while I was away one of my 17 year old cats passed away so that was a bit of a downer on my return ( they kept it from me) No new holidays on the horizon for me!!!
ps - we have been getting low to mid 40 degrees here as well

Cool where did you get to visit in the U.K & Ireland?
Did you enjoy the weather
A very good friend of mine spent 2 years in Australia. He said he was miserable at Christmas cause the sun was shining, and he ate his Christmas dinner in the dining room with the curtains pulled, and the lights switched off

I am got Sarah and I am getting Zack from Victoria - Tantus Maine Coons - they have been wonderful.
Re my trip
I spent a week doing a tour of southern Ireland which was flat out but wonderful - but wet!
In England we stayed in the centre near Rugby and drove up to Manchester and Leeds and then into the Yorkshire Dales and York. Also stayed in Sheffield as my friend did the Phil and friends ride through the Pennines, my other friend and I drove the car and followed them and saw the fantastic countryside - I had been there 3 years before and done London, Bath etc. Sunny and warm in 2006 but wet in 2009

We usually holiday in this country cos I hate leaving my dogs in kennels, well leaving them at all really
Last year we went to Cornwall with the dogs - it was lovely, the people were so welcoming and everywhere we went let us take the dogs - they loved the beaches too. Not sure if we will go anywhere this year though cos now I have Simba and I don't want to leave him either
I will need to find a super great cattery if I did and even then I would be worried.
