Thread: Wonderful things around us !

There is so much in life we take for granted and today brought a thought to mind ! I was moving the horses from their winter fields to their summer fields. They all got checked over and rugs came of and apart from Star and Jaffa their weights are brilliant. In the winter we give them hard feed and they have as much haylage as they like but winter is winter and Star and Jaffa have lost a little weight, not much, but a little. Having had the summer fields fertilized a few weeks ago, and with the rain we have had, the grass in the summer fields is lush !

Worrying as you do with all your babies I said to Sarah how long do you think till Star and Jaffa will be up to full weight again ? After she gave me a row for worrying to much, she said a couple of weeks ! And she is right, I know it. For all the expense of top quality hard feed and haylage throught the winter there is a little blade of grass that has absolutely everything in it they need to be fit and healthy ! Yeah, a blade of grass ! we take it for granted but it has everything they need !

So I stopped for a while watching them dig in to the lush green grass and run about like mad hatters and I thought how wonderful my life is to have these magnificent animals in my life, and how wonderful nature is in supplying them with such rich food ! I am so lucky.
