I have never forgotten the feeling of that "shell" under my foot!!! I really hate those things! I have sooooo many other bug stories but think I will spare you.....

Something similar happened to me - at a party with people I barely knew and never saw again after that - Chris, close your eyes you're going to have nightmares - something crawls on my hand - I look down just as an ENORMOUS (well, for a country where we don't do tarentulas) spider crawls on my arm inside my jumper's sleeve. So, to the sweet sweet music of Metallica, I started this frantic shake hoping to dislodge the critter while people looked on wondering if I had finally gone completely bonkers - and then when that didn't work and I could feel the thing crawling higher... well let's just say thank God for inventing the bra, without which that evening could have been really embarassing. For good measure I also proceeded to stomp thoroughly on my jumper as it whas laying on the floor.
I think the spider escaped, though.

Kim, I followed at wet path up my driveway one morning and found a slug? as big as a cigar, it was huge I put it in my garden, duh my neighbor said they eat Hostas so I guess this one had a feast!

Don't have a photo of one but we get the big nasty centipedes here in Florida, semi-tropical doncha know. 6 or7 inches (150 - 180 mm) long, yellowish orange, with a blue vein that runs its entire length and a toxin that will make you powerful sick. I've only seen four in my entire life but I gave them and will continue to give then a wide berth. Kill on sight is justified with these

O, the cats kill and eat the spiders.

I have a two slice toaster Whyemier and OMG again, no way I would have been out of that kitchen like a bat out of you know where !!! lol And a no to those centipedes to, I am glad I live in Scotland !!! lol Glad to hear that the cats eat the spiders, will be training Frazer up !!! lol

The only thing I can bear to kill without my concience worrying me too much is mosquitoes - GOD I HATE THEM! I once woke up with my eye swollen to double the size coz one had decided my eyelid looked nice and tasty... they do love me though - you can say we have a love/hate relationship. If I suspect one might be hiding in the bedroom I won't go to sleep till I have explored every wall and every corner and I'm satisfied there is none there. I could never ever ever live in a tropical climate. Just thinking about them I'm itching all over now and Neevie is looking at me "what ya doin you crazy human?". Mosquitoes dont like me !! lol dont know why but they never bother me ! lol

They spray the swamp by my house and it keeps them down somewhat but I have to keep the birdbaths clean and not let any water sit in pans etc. haha Neevie is a brave pirate! My Ginger loves to eat the sugar ants, but not a lot of other bugs that I see in the house.
