I thought it might be nice to see pictures of where everyone lives! I always talk about my wild life and weather, here are a few pictures of my walk this am. No deer were out to take pictures of, the must be camera shy today! I would love to see photos of UK, Scotland, Ireland and Fl and AZ, just saying........

Yes we are known for our lakes! in excess of 10,000! Dontcha know,very Norwegian here! If you ever saw the movie Fargo, it was filmed here in the winter, not one of my favorites but the bar in the first part belongs to a friend of mine. Woot, my only claim to fame.
The pictures are beautiful, I love country living. What country do you hail from?

we live in the UK (North of... far far north...) but I am originally from France ... also north...
here are some pretty pictures of Newcastle - the city near which we live - I didn't take the pictures, just found them on internet... and a map to show you where it is in Europe. Chris lives even more North than that! :-)
it's windy here, so yeah lots of stone walls originally to protect the sheep and cattle from the wind and rain and cold....

Thank you for the pictures and maps, that is awesome! I would love to come there one day and do some ghost hunting ;) . That is interesting about the sheep, who would have thought? I will post some photos of my yard, I don't take too many pictures of my home, but I can! Have an awesome weekend! Now maybe some pictures of Florida and Az? I would love to see some pictures from Scotland :)
We are still in China and I don't really have anything here on my Ipad but when I get home I'll take a couple pics and post them. The desert is interesting and can be very beautiful in a very different way. I love seeing the photos of all these beautiful green places!

Chris Scotland is gorgeous I want to swim I n that beautiful lake and get in the wind on my Harley. It looks like paradise! Love it!
Whyemier, I love FL! Do you live on the Gulf side? We drove across Fl to the gulf and had shrimp on the Gulf of Mexico. It was awesome!!!!!
heehee believe me you don't .... I reckon bits of you might fall off if you do... I doubt if that lake ever gets warmer than 6 degrees (Ceclius.... I think that's 46 Farenheit) But it is SOOOOO beautiful, I think the best way to discribe the Scottish country-side is "powerful". And on a Harley it must be awsome!Quote:

Yes, Sidewinder walked into the frame as I was lining up the photo. I don't mow the property, my wife does, because she wants to. She says it is her 'therapy' to get out and work on the plants and dig up the ground and mow the meadow. She has the 'green thumb' all I do is kill the plants. Not that I want to but they don't seem to respond to my ministrations. If she didn't do it the property would all be Florida sand and only the bit around the house would get mowed. I go for a more natural look on the meadow.Quote:

Really living that close to the ocean must be awesome, I love to walk on the beach early in the morning drinking my coffee and shooting the breeze with anyone who will talk. It's the Minnesotan in me doncha know!

what a lovely place Donna! I love gardenning - but I find England = rain and cold = a lot of slugs = difficult to get plants looking nice for long :-D nevermind I am not giving up! ;-)
the bear plunge sounds just the right kind of tourist attraction we could set up here - no ice, so you don't have to cut through it, but I rekon the water is still not much warmer for it. the North sea that runs along the east coast has a cold stream flowing through, coming from the North North North part of the globe - so all the water from the melting icebergs runs there, and as a result we have cooler climate and cold water all year round.
I went to the beach once when I first arrived, blissfully unaware of this fact, it was very hot that year and I thought a dip in the sea would be really nice, naive little froglet that I am. I dunk my big toe, and pulled it out very fast! it was so cold it hurt!
Meanwhile, my husband wasn't as foreseeing, bless him, he cheerfully took a running dive into the very cold cold sea before I could warn him - not sure if I would have, mind, I'm cruel like that :rofl: . You should have heard him yelp as he jumped out! heehee!
Wow that sounds awesome! I love gardening also, this spring has been cold and wetter than usual. I love how your hubby just jumps in! Lake Superior can be very cold also, it will wake you right up! We have several large bodies of water here in Minnesota. Lake Superior, Leech Lake and Mille Lacs Lake. I love to walk on the beaches and play in the water. Minnesota is just south of Canada, the lakes stay very cool until August and then it gets warm with icky bugs and swimming is done for the year.
