Haha no I have thick gloves. He is a greedy little so and so and feeding is a case of open small corner of lid, throw in two mice, close lid quickly and run. Ten minutes later check lid is firmly closed, then relax.
I will admit they are not my first choice of pets but they came with my son when he moved back in and they do kinda grow on you.

Thanks for the pics, Catslave. Snakes as pets - that's a whole new world!
They are fascinating creatures but I must admit I prefer the cuddle factor! x

Aw she's gorgeous! I love Kings too, they are amazing snakes, once they grow out of the trying to eat everything part. lol! I had a banana banded king, he was soft as anything but on feeding day it was...interesting. lol He would strike like a freight train!
I'm looking into getting a sunglow boa in the new year, can't wait!

Blackie my Mexican King still has a few gold stripes on his underside of throat, but they are going quickly. Agree with you about feeding day being interesting lol mine is still on twice weekly feeding as his jaws haven't caught up with his appetite yet.
Nyoka is a very lovely girl, but boy can she get moody when she is shedding. They are both moving into new vivs at Christmas by shhh they don't know they are getting them yet. I would love a boa and having 2 empty / spare vivs is going to be tempting. You will have to share pictures if / when you get yours.
I have to ask, have you had issues with cats doing merekat impressions watching them, and sleeping on top of vivs? I've had to put chicken wire over the tops to keep Buddy off them.Last edited by catslave; 11th December 2011 at 01:26 AM.
