    poop

My male Maine Coon is almost two years old. He used to get poop on his tail every now and again but just recently it's almost every day. He passes round the delightful poop onto curtains, carpets, walls etc. Luckily it's only happened when i've been home but I dread the day it happens when i'm out.

Does anyone have any tips for solving this problem? I use only the best litter and use huge tray inside a huge box which was made specifically for him.

    Many thanks,
    Dorien

I guess the first obvious question would be are his stools suddenly softer for some reason, so his tail is picking it up easier? If they are still normal, try taking the tray out of the box and letting him use it 'unhindered', this might give you an idea as to whether its the confines of the box that are not helping matters. At 2yrs old he is still growing, so worth checking if even a huge box is causing him an issue, logistically speaking. We do keep ours trimmed around their bottoms to minimise any of those bits, but tails don't seem to be a problem yet.
