Hi I've just joined although I have Siamese not Maine Coons. I joined because I found this link to feeding chicks. I am feeding my 3 choc points 2 chicks a day and they absolutely LOVE them! I have the mum who is 3 1/2 yrs and two of her boys who are now nearly 8 months old. They have a mixture of raw meat chunks for breakfast, 2 day old chicks for lunch and a couple of chicken wings chopped into large chunks for supper. They are all thriving. I can't agree that day old chicks are poor nutrition but I'm interested in other's opinions. My only concern is that the 'kittens' wolf them down in seconds whereas Mum takes her time chewing them. My other concern is that I have read some info regarding the idea that DOCS have to much vitamin A due to the yolk. Does anyone have any info on this please?
