We made exactly the same mistake, I guess we all have the parent's complex, thinking our cats outsmart others...:S Anyway, I use citty kitty instead of LK, which I don't like, I didn't know LK existed. Anyway, I started the first smallest hole, and one of my cat, Sherlock, was trying to patch the hole b/c he's worried "what if my poo fall into it?" They had a few accidents and I had to patch the hole again and wait one more week. I am going to have my husband show both cats "it's okay to pee/poo into the hole" by peeing into the hole...lol And then we will see from there. I know it sounds deperate, but example is better than precept, right? :D

Has anybody had a full success with these? Would be good to hear, as we are thinking of buying a kit, but don't really want to invest if it's useless

Right, today the main litter box got blocked off and we shall see what accidents - or protests - take place before the lads start using the Litter Kwitter (one floor away, in the bathroom).

Missey: I started using the LK over a year ago when Winston was a kitten. We got to the green stage and have not bothered removing this disk. WE tried to make the full transition but he was having none of it. He likes to place his paws on the ledge when he uses the loo and the removal of the green disk prevented this!
He uses the LK all the time accept for when he goes to the cattery. WE are still glad that we don't have to use a litter tray it really is so much cleaner

OK folks, advice please;
We blocked off the main litter tray on Saturday morning while they had breakfast and encouraged them into the bathroom. After many point and show sessions I think all three have had a wee in the LK on the floor. No poo. On Saturday night Leo was being a little fearful and hiding under the bed. I am guessing he felt he was being punished or something, so I put the litter tray back and within minutes of visiting it Leo jumps on the bed and is back to normal. The other two are ok.
Sunday morning blocked off the tray again, more point and show (well, pick up large cub and place them on the tray) but still only wee. This time I left it until this morning, a full 24 hours. Leo was better in behaviour and they all got treats and play yesterday. But still no poo.
I am not sure how long it's safe to leave them to figure out they have to poo somewhere and that somewhere is the LK. I don't want constipation or other issues.
What's safe, especially given they haven't protested or had any accidents ?

Hi Peter: Don't want to burst your bubble but it really takes alot of patience and careful monitoring to get them to do their first "big jobbie" using the LK...............and thats with one kitten/cat.
From my own experience I personally could not see it working 100% with 3 unless you are really committed.
I would advise you have alook at the Litter Kwitter forum as you may get a more varied response from those who live in a multi cat household.
I do recall Winston refusing to do his "number 2" for perhaps a day when we started training at the beginning BUT once he did it the first time it was just a matter of keeping him under observation.

I like the idea of putting the LK in their existing tray. I may take this approach: Place current litter tray in bathroom - somehow, it's large - then put LK in instead of normal litter; then take lid off; finally place just LK on floor. See what my housemate things - she has to share bathroom...
