Thank you all for your encouraging words
We're still pretty shaken about all this; seems to me it was some sort of plan, us falling love with him and all, and it works too... We're seeing another doctor today, before the x-ray tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Well, the vet we just saw said it's rickets. It makes total sense since his mother had four previous pregnancies, if only I could have put two and two together when the breeder mentioned it... Anyway, the vet said that supplements should make him strong and we started the treatment today. Thank you all for being there for me, it's been pretty nightmare-ish for us these couple of days.
I'll be back with pictures of a hopefully better kitty
    Thank you all again!

How did they come to the rickets diagnosis? Did they do blood tests and x rays? It's great to have a diagnosis.

Apparently, it's pretty obvious by the shape of his ribs (and, ofc, the problem in his leg) since they don't develop properly due to calcium deficiency; rickets give them a certain shape and consistency observable by simply touching them. We live, we learn; wish I didn't have to learn the hard way tho

Wow, what a story. Selling a kitten at 11 weeks... overbreeding the mum... you gotta love some breeders.
Anyway, it must be such a relief for you that the problem can be treated. He's a beautiful kitten BTW - very handsome face on him. What's his name?

Such a shame, for your baby... I am so sorry to read about another breeder going this way, I love you little baby though I am sure he will get the best possible care now xx
