Personally I would return the kitten to the breeder, but I guess you love him now. How old is he? I expect a male at 12 weeks to be 2kg [4lb 6oz] This is not a cold, it is probably either, herpes, chlamydia or Calici, which is treatable, Azithromycin would be my choice for a kitten. But, you need to be on top of it, Calici or colds, are virus', and antibiotics cannot cure them, but deal with the side effects of bacterial infection, which is probably what you are seeing from the nasal discharge. Even if insured you will not get it back, because the kitten was already sick, and be prepared, this may cost you a pretty penny, and possibly leave your kitten with permanent rhinitis, or recurrent bouts of sneezing etc. Are the gums red? has the vet checked for ulcers in the mouth? also test for calici, Herpes and Chlamydia as each treatment will be slightly different, and herpes is for life. Also contact the breeder NOW to see what help she/he will provide, before they can say the illness was contracted after purchase.
Use a pill popper to get the Baytril down, make sure the dosage is absolutely correct, as it is titrated to weight. Buy some Royal Canin convalescent diet powder from your vet, mix it warm, and syringe feed it as much as you can. to supplement feeding, take care as kitten can choke easily if it has a blocked nose, so allow time for swallowing and breathing.
I'm sorry, but you have bought some trouble, and the breeder needs to know.
