I have heard of mother cats who chew off kittens’ whiskers (Tatja’s mum had done it too) and overgroom their necks so the kittens lose their ruffs. (It will all grow back though.)
Doesn’t one of our forum members (Steve Morgan I believe) have a Coon whose ears have been completely bitten off by the mum? However I can’t imagine a mother cat nibbling the ears of *all* of her kittens. So I share Jackie’s doubts.
