Fireworks.....

Are any of you protecting your kitties from the fireworks this weekend?

Does anyone rate the plug in cat calming products?

Ours just sit at the window & watch what is going on or go in their beds & fall asleep so get away with it quite lightly.We did have a problem once when a "good"neighbour let off one of those big bangs meant for firework displays only without warning & being a summers evening the cats were out in the garden or in their pen,that did put the wind up the babes a bit so when firework night came along we just stood at the window making the stupid "Whee look at that" noises & the older cats were happy so that brought babes round quite quickly,don't think they wanted to look scaredy cats in front of their peers,I luv it when the whizzy sounding ones go off because the cats seem to pick up on the disappearing sound & run off looking for it.....
I know we do sell a lot of the Feliway at work over this period & most people say it helps so if you have any worries about the situation then go for it & give it a try but to be most effective you really ought to have had it already going to build up in the area kits are in.
Perhaps you are going to have to play loud music {good excuse when neighbours complain}& just play the whee game when pretty lights appear if they look worried but being MC's bet they take it in their stride !
At least we don't have the worry of making sure our pets are in before it all kicks off.

Indeed times like these makes me glad Hanks a house cat and I'm not going to be worried that he's cowering in a bush somewhere or worse having some kids throwing bangers at him.

No fireworks here, but when we was in the UK, it was only the dogs that where scared the cats used to love it.

I was concerned about the lads having their first firework night on the same day of their op, but neither of them have batted an eyelid. There have been loads of fireworks going off all around, and some of them as close as next door, but all they've done is a few unconcerned ear twitches. Very cool indeed, thank goodness!
