I find that stroking Sylvie stimulates him to clean himself and he does seem to use a kind of nibbling action on his feet and between his toes! He definitely just seems to be giving himself a good clean though. Sylvie is the first cat I've owned who likes a belly rub- my other cats used to almost have a reflex action against it and would start kicking with their back legs! Maybe it's some kind of weird reflex?

Hi
My domestic cat "Bit" who sadly passed away last year at nearly 18 years old used to always chew on her front paw if you scratched the end of her back. She did it all her life and it was funny sometimes because if you scratched she chewed and as soon as you stopped she stopped, then if you scratched again she did it again - it never bothered her and it seemed to be a reflex action because she would stop whatever she was doing to chew and then resume straight away. I never worried about it and no hair ever was moved!!
