As long as he is registered with one of them then it's not a problem. Breeders can register with gccf, fife or tica and that proves that the kitten is a genuine Maine coon and parents are on the active.
The only time it would matter is if you wanted to show with a different registry.

Thanks for your help Louise - much appreciated! After 2.5 years of researching MC's I thought i knew a little but this forum is an amazing with all of its wealth & knowledge.
Is the GCCF the most commonly used of the registers?

Not a problem - I've been breeding for a while and still learn new things on here!
I think gccf was always the most popular but fb and tica are definately more recognised than they were.
I like tica as they respond quickly to queries and their registration process is quick and easy.
