Thanks everyone
We were planning on getting two, as I said. I had the money saved and everything so that wasn't the issue but when the kittens were born Dave got really worried about having two, especially when they grow up and are quite big. I think the main issue for him is that his dad is allergic and his dog hates cats so we could never bring them to his house (in Aberdeen) over Christmas or things like that. We're thinking of just having Christmas in Glasgow with Teddy this year. My family's pretty dysfunctional so Christmas is pretty awful for me usually! If we were going to go home, I'd have to bring Teddy on the boat with me and he was worried about how I'd cope with two plus my luggage on my own.
I graduate in a year and Dave graduates in two years. The plan is to get another kitten before we start working full time so that Teddy doesn't get lonely.
Next year I'll only be in university two or three hours a week (it's a joke! I do have a lot of work to do outside of that but I'll do it at home and Teddy can help me!).
In the litter, Teddy is the biggest of the four and probably the bossiest and most confident (whilst still being very protective of his only little sister!) so hopefully he'll hold on to these traits and being by himself for a year or so won't be too much of a problem.
Personally, I'd have two tomorrow! The little silver girl in the same litter is adorable!
Also, I was going to ask - we're stuck without a car so we're hoping to order some of the things for Teddy (carrier, litter tray, scratch post etc.) online...does anyone know of the best website to order from? Or even have any suggestions?

I get most of my cat stuff online just because its easier to compare prices of the food and litter, and there is a lot more choice when it comes to all the other paraphernalia one ends up with - the amount of stuff we have gathered in a few months is unbelievable, just like having twin babies! I have discovered that prices vary hugely but so far I have used, Zooplus Pet Supplies, Pet Food, Dog Food, Cat Food and Pet Accessories at Zooplus ; pet planet Pet Supplies Store: Pet Planet, the UK's #1 Pet Store and pets at home Pets at Home - where pets come first and I have also checked out amazon.
Hope that helps and enjoy your kitten or two!

Congrats and welcome Stacey :-)
I usually get my bits from PetsAtHome - I'm expecting a new little chap tomorrow, so have just got back from there with a boot full of stuff! They normally have good deals on food and sales on quite often.
I hope your wait doesn't feel too long! I'm going to have issues just getting through the night tonight! Best plan for number 2 though, because they are addictive! I've lasted 4 months before giving in to another lol!

I saw your thread and commented
your new little guy looks quite like mine only Teddy doesn't have any white and is generally a bit darker...for now anyway...I don't know how much they change from five weeks onwards.
Thanks for the advicelet me know how he gets on!
There'll definitely be a second - probably in a year's time just because we have long summer holidays for the kitty to get settled in without us rushing out to work!

Just got an email from our breeder asking us to clarify which of the two red boys we'd chosen - she said she was pretty sure who we meant but just wanted to be completely sure. They look so much bigger now! I hope I got it right...eek! We're meeting them again in a few weeks anyway

Hi Stacey good luck with Teddy, love the name! Im collecting my new MC kitten at the end of jan im so excited, it seems ages since he was born. He is the only boy in the litter, I have a manx girl and wanted a boy. Only reason being I hated putting her through being spayed, its not such a big op for the boys.( sorry all you males who im sure are all cringeing !!) Im calling him Billy, we will be able to compare notes. Ilive in a small village near Peterborough a long way from Scotland.

Nurselin, your not going to like the neutering anymore that the spaying! I laughed when I read that
I think anytime they "fix" our babies and they have a little pain, were not down. Ginger got a shot when she was a baby and I would not let them give her the booster because she was in so much pain the next day. It was an optional vaccine, not a real important one hahaha I love the red ones! I really want a boy, who know maybe one day? Good luck with the new babies, waiting is the hardest part!

HI donnad, oh dear better get some pain relief, bobbie chewed her stitches out the next day following her op. she was a nightmare we tried collars t shirts you name it! Luckily the vet had put an inner stitch in and it held together, I am a qualified nurse but hopeless with my pets!! Thought a boy might be a little easiser.!!!
