I think Darcy has lost her mind lol

It started when we got some new kitty toys. They are these little fuzzy pom pom balls.

For the past 2-3 days she'll pick one up in her mouth and wander around the house wailing this meow that sounds almost mournful! But when we take the ball to play with her, she wants nothing to do with it!!! What is going on with this cat? It's the most pitiful thing I've ever seen!

Bless! She's got such a cute face!

My flatmate's dog does something similar. She's a golden retriever and has lots of little teddies which look just like her - she carries them around and sleeps with them like they're her babies. She gets cross if you try and play fetch with them or anything!

One of our moggies does this with both fuzzy toys and mouse-like toys. We think it is his way of showing off that he 'got' the toy. But we find the sound annoying and try to ignore him, so I don't know what he'd do if we tried to play with the toy.
