I found this site where it points out how to tell the difference physically between the 3.
Solacefarm Siberian Cat Library - Differences between the Siberian Cat, Norwegian Forest Cat and Maine Coon
It's rather remarkable that 3 different places with harsh winter climates produce cats that are quite similar.
Here in the US, the Maine Coon is very popular and the other two somewhat rare.
The shelters and rescues here are full of Maine Coons mixes.Last edited by cooncatbob; 8th June 2011 at 09:44 PM.

They are very much like cats, Siberian are even more benign, completely devoid of aggression, characteristic dogs in the cat's skin. I dreamed about those cats over 10 years, 3 months my dream will come true and come to me with the Polish "Fordonia Colombo, and in January he will join the females Havanna and Ireland.

Hi there I have four Norwegians [after 20 years being owned by persians]. Have to say they are the most laid back soppiest cats I have ever owned. They are very cuddly and very playful. We had decided to no longer have persians as we didn't like the way they were being bred and considered both wegies and coonies. We decided to go for wegies and have 18 month old brothers and 10 month old brother and sister. They all adore each other [along with our elderly mog and our 13 yr old brother and sister persians], and will groom each other. Have to say though I still have a hankering for a red tabby coonie. Which is why I am here I guess!!
