Wendy
Thanks for the info on your friend's web site. I certainly will contact her and hopefully she can give me some advice.

My odd eyed white 2 year old is deaf so I can try to answer any questions you may have. I was a little worried at first about adopting her but the only difference I really see from my hearing cats is that she doesn't come when I call her name! I don't even think of her as being deaf anymore and even talk to her! My kids do make fun of me for that though!
Molly responds to basic hand signals like come and down. I didn't "train" her, it just sort of happened naturally. When I pat my lap or the couch next to me she will come and if she is on a counter or table I'll point down and she'll jump down.
She likes visual toys, the laser pointer is her favorite!

Thanks for your response. I, too, found myself talking to the little guy when I went to visit him. I know I will continue to do it as I talk to my other two! He is just too cute for words and I am anxious to bring him home. I don't have a laser pointer and will be sure to get one before he arrives.
