Maya has been home for 48 hours.
It was a long trip for her but she is home. During the drive home, she slept cradled in my dh arm and letting out a squeek once in awhile.
How do I describe her? She's swet, cuddly, very expressive, quick, playful, take charge kinda gal and is a menace when she wants to be. I think that sums it up.
When we got her home, we left her in the crate. The entire time she was being very vocal of not wanting to be in the crate. Tequila got acquinted with her. When we finally let her out, she wandered around the house while talking. It was cute. She found my dh in the bedroom and what does he do? He puts her on the bed and there she stayed for an hour just playing and rolling around.
She found all the toys easily. She must have played with every single toy of Tequilas. All he did was watch her play. I am pretty sure he was thinking why is that thing playing with my toys.
After watching her, I think he was fed up and chased her. Yup, he pounced on her, gave her the neck nibble and when she squeeked, he'd let her go. Then in turn she would chase him. She then would go under the bed and hide behind the bedskirt. When she saw him being near, she would bat at him with her paw.
I took Tequila away for an hour or so just to give him one on one time with me. But when Maya was left alone, she would call for us until we answered her. What a baby.
This morning Maya went into the litterbow and Tequila followed behind her. I assumed the worse as in he's going to pounce on her. But instead, he sat and waited for her to finish then he went in and did his business. Such good manners from him. No reciprication from her. She just jumps right in when he's doing his business. Glad that she doesn't freak him out and he doesn't run scared mid poop or mid stream. I can just see poop all over the walls.LOL!!
We're a little over protective of her as Tequila has got a considerable amount of size on her. So, we have to supervise their play time. She's one tough cookie. She was playing on the cat tree and rolled off one of the platforms. Well, it scared the crap out of me thinking she'd hurt herself, after inspecting her little body as she tries to wiggle out of my hold, she got back up onto the platform and started playing again. Well, now I've got our sofa cushions on the floor to cushion her fall if it happens again.
I don't think she and Tequila are at the BFF level yet. They sleep very close to each other and I have seen him lick her ear before they slept so I think it's a matter of time, I hope.
Here are a few photos of her and of them two together.
