thanks everyone

i will post loads of pics when i get him home.
Candles - thanks for the advice, im currently researching how to keep his coat perfect so ill start a thread about that soon, there is so much out there about keeping coats black im trying to sort the myths from the realities.
but if he is a outdoor boy who loves the run i would not stop him doing something he loved just for the sake of showing, his happiness is worth so much more than any prize.

We retired Welly from showing because his coat now seems to be permantly red tinged & thought it was because he is an out in the sun boy & like you were not going to put showing first because he is pet first & foremost but at the last show we done with him after he got his certificate to become premier champ I just commented to him "thats it boy last show" the judge asked why so I told her & she said as long as the cat was turned out in top show condition they would never dock points {FB this is don't know about others}because of the redness in the coat, both she & also my breeder who has talked to people have since said that with the strong genetic link to reds that give you the blacks some of them can take on the reddish tinge & I think my boy must be one of them because even during the winter & his coat change he still has the most lovely auburn colour in the sun that many people would pay good money to get.Might take him out again one day because he has the most wonderful show temperment but at the moment he equally seems to enjoy the gloating of seeing his bruv in the shower & he doesn't have to follow but if you do come up with anything that seems sure to help pass on will you please,he wouldn't come up against your baby because he is with white......!
Have you named baby yet or have I managed to miss it...? x
