Thread: Neutering telephone call felt like call from Principal's Office

Neutering time was back in November for Whiskey. Now that the holidays are over I thought I'd share his story.

I dropped Whiskey off 1^st thing in the morning. At noon the vet called to say surgery was over; Whiskey did well, and was recovering. I could pick him up after 5pm. At 2pm I got the dreaded phone call from the principal’s office (vet) to please come & pick up my boy. He was being disruptive in his class, opps I mean “cage”. They said they were afraid he’d hurt himself as he was chewing on the bars, digging & banging around in the cage, and meowing like crazy. I immediately drove over. I walked into the principal's (vet’s) office with tail between my legs as I felt so embarrassed that my child (cat) was misbehaving. The principal (vet) said Whiskey calmed down when they turned off the lights and put a towel over his cage so he couldn’t see anyone. They said take him home as he was doing great. They said he'll probably sleep a lot. Well they don’t know my son (kitty). He was running around playing with everything & anything as though nothing happened. It felt like he had early dismissal from school and was celebrating.

Have had to call dog owners in early to collect disruptive children but never a cat a towel over pen normally does work for them I had a horrible feeling you were going to say you had been confronted by a principal covered in "band aid plasters" but so pleased you were not,clever Whiskey you have given me a smile for the day...x
