Merlin was a beautiful black with white bib and socks boy, and he and his sister, Topsy were the first two cats I had. Pansy Potter arrived when I moved from a flat to the house I still live in. However I did look up Pansy Potter just to check if the name exists somewhere, and it does. Pansy Potter was a character in the Beano comic - so maybe we did both choose the name because it resided in our subconscious brain!

How true that could be about the subconcious thoughts, I used to pinch my unc's Beano to read when I went to visit gran,felt that as he was a grown man I could justify making it disappear.Would love to see pics if you can find them but just by your descriptions can imagine my Welly being close to PP. I think you are right about names as well the animals that I have just looked at & bonded with straight away have had names come very easily but others have had to work a bit harder to get what seems right,all good fun though......
