Karen, I don't think anyone would doubt that Buddy exsists. However, you and I (I think) are in the same position though when it comes to MC verification. My breeder has never released Kitten's papers, so although he looks just a Maine Coon, and that is the cat the breeder breeds (and website shows) - without the pink slip, we cannot enter him into shows etc - because we do not have absolute proof. Kitten is a truly wonderful companion and I would not part with him for anything, but if I was choosing a MC again, I would certainly go to a reputable breeder. This site is great on that score, by helping to provide useful support and advice on choosing MCs and listing those breeders which operate as they should.
