GCCF,FiFE,TICA are the three registration bodies that any breeder can register their babes under in the UK,very often you will find that the breeder tends to register their babes under the one that they themself show under but some breeders show under all of the above so would say if you have a breeder in mind as long as babes are registered then don't worry, normally you would expect to pay from about 450 to 600 for a babe on the non active register & double at least for one on an active but quite honestly I can't see any top breeder selling a babe on "active" conditions to someone wanting a "one off" litter in fact a lot of the breedrs over here in the UK have their babes neutered before letting them go so that doesn't happen, they will have put a lot of years & thought into their breeding lines, also even if you had a one off litter to be able to register you would also have to get a prefix,I would advice you to contact a good breeder & have a chat first,I have been "midwife" to a friends furries over several years & I can honestly say there can be a lot of heartache involved in breeding,in fact her first girl had one kitten by c.section at two in the morning, can you imagine the cost of that one...breeding is not something to go into lightly & even though she offered to allow my last girl to remain on the active register to allow me to have a litter {under her prefix though as she would have been my mentor for the one off} I said no thanks I am happy to let those that know what they are doing carry on breeding & have the heartache I am happy to hand over the pennies & pick my babe........Good luck with whatever you decide to do....x

Quite honestly if you would like a MC & would also like to get into showing I would say find yourself a good breeder, forget about the breeding side of things, start enjoying it for the super pet it will be,go along to a show {except for GCCF the other two you can go along & do one show without having to register with them}& start a whole new way of life,it is brilliant,no breeder can promise that any kitten will come up to show standard but a good breeder will know their lines well enough to give you a good chance but can promise you will make some new friends along the way too,the MC is a super breed they take over your hearts very quickly & I know one MC is never enough so would expect it wouldn't be too long before you added to your family, far too quickly for your girl to be of age to breed with......!!!!!! xxx
