    Simba's op

I'm taking Simba in for his hernia op this morning. Poor thing can't have any food this morning and is walking around under my feet wondering why his bowl is empty. I'm feeling very nervous. Let you know later how he is.

Got to the vet at 8.20am and spoke to the chap who was going to do the operation and after he gave Simba an examination he said he didn't feel it warranted an operation! He turned Simba over onto his back so he was laying with four feet in the air and said it disappears when he did that which was apparently good news - Simba was very good and did as he was told which amazed me. The fact that it goes in and out easily though is apparently good. I was so happy. He said that it wasn't that big and because he was still growing (4.75kg now) it may even get smaller. He said I should bring him in every three months to have it checked, he also said that in the worst case scenario and it got stuck out or twisted they would know in plenty of time and could operate without it being life threatening. So Simba came home again and tucked into a large breakfast. I'm so relieved and so was Simba who cried all the way to the vet and all the way home again.
