    I don't know anyone with a deaf cat, but Hector has male deafness when he is fixated on the goldfish.

    I do know someone with a deaf spainel though and they too don't touch him when he is sleeping but he does respond well to hand signals and given how clever MC's are I am sure you could teach the one you are looking at some signals with ease. As with deaf humans other senses are more acute he can smell food at a good distance
