Yes, the funny thing is that I NEVER allowed any of my moggies to get on the kitchen counters. That was always a big no-no in our house. But now it's all gone out the window. Monty being a superb jumper from an early age, and fascinated by the kitchen tap, soon established his place right by the kitchen sink, and could jump up there directly from about 5 months old. Larry soon followed, by getting on the low windowsill and up on the counter from there. At first I tried to shoo them away with the hairdryer but as it wasn't always to hand I soon gave up. What's interesting is that little old Barney, who has NEVER been allowed up there, is now trying to join in, with a definite 'guilty' look on his face....!
The danger now is that Larry has learned to open a wall cupboard, when he's on the counter. We're used to hiding food up in a wall cupboard, on top of the plates, well out of their way. But the other day the leftover chicken was strewn all over the counter and floor - and the cupboard door was ajar....Larry! Obviously they all thought it was brilliant, and we were foiled again. LOL! Pesky critters!
