Merry Christmas
Well done Fey,its great seeing someone elses furry having fun amoungst the tinsel but dreading when it is out turn.
My daughter makes me feel a hopless furry mum at xmas both of her cats are so well trained that she has no problems at all, right from a babe Crystal has had one bauble on the bottom branch of the tree which is designated hers & after only a few no's thats not yours this one is,no more problems, she only ever plays with that one, when Ozzy came along all he ever wanted to do was lay underneath it at the back,so two cats & no destruction.
We were fine not any real problems until the latest two babes came along, they were born just before xmas so were the year old before they even saw a tree, the first year we had a small one & put it on a high unit, last year we braved our normal one, nearly gave up & chucked it out, black & white cat climbing up the inside, tabby taking off all the baubles,no meant nothing, then brainwave,I got a load of holly, removed all the berries & built up a wall of holly aound the bottom of the tree,b&w cat couldn't get under to climb & because the wall of holly was brought a bit forward the other one couldn't get near the baubles, yep,it worked,a couple of pricked noses & we had respect for the tree, after xmas we gradually removed the holly & they took no notice,so watch this space, will it be back to square one or will I have six cats as well behaved as daughters.....
Have got an extra bottle of my favourite grog to help the nerves, just in case you understand ! I am looking forward to hearing & seeing the fun everyone has, getting close now.

What a marvellously festive idea... I'm already feeling braver than I was having read that!
Perhaps your daughter could sell her training services to the cat world - kind of a Cat Whisperer. It's not impossible that Freyja might loll about under the tree, but Wicca won't be happy til it's either on the floor, shredded, or she's perched precariously on the top like a furry (and slightly demonic) angel!

Merry Christmas
Proof that either the babes are growing up or the holly round the bottom worked so well last year that they can still remember all about it,tree up since Saturday & no fun to report, not one attempt to climb it,everything still on in its rightful place, boring really.I was dreading having to decorate up so early but daughter will be here for an early xmas this weekend & there would have been no chance of doing it during the week so went for it,sitting here wondering why I was so worried.....
Could change, they might be lulling me into a false sense of security but at the moment looks as if I am going to have to wait for my entertainment to come from elsewhere !
Boring,boring,yawn,boring.......

Hi Karen
Well our tree went up yesterday and has survived so far. They've had a bit of a play with some of the lower baubles - but then that's my own fault for putting bells on some of the lower levels for the feline entertainment factor!!! No sign of them climbing to the summit using just their claws as crampons beofre absailing down - but watch this space! It is a six foot tree though so they'd have to go some to knock it down but we have placed it out of range of breakables just in case
Now, as for the fun whilst decorating, that's another story! Kittie antics, carnage and laughter all rolled into one

What wonderfully cozy pics of the kitties in the box.
We've never had an Xmas tree because hubby loathes them... but I am starting to feel tempted now. Perhaps I can persuade him by saying it's for the Coonies.
