Thread: Does your Coonie still suckle?

Monty will try to suckle my neck, preferably right under my hair, and I have to catch hold of his paw or he'll knead me in the face. He did this on the first day and he's not grown out of it yet! Although he does it less often. He's very big now, and very determined, but I just stand up or plonk him firmly on my lap and hold him down. It's affectionate, but rather embarrassing...!

I've got a three year old dog that does this! She even pumps her paws to try and get milk out of my neck Simba has never done it but he licks a lot, quite unpleasant when he does it on your face, that tongue is perfect for grooming

Little Minnie tried to suckle with Tatja for a while. The breeder told me to discourage it as it would irritate Tatja's skin and nipples. So I distracted her with a toy every time I saw her doing it. She quickly grew out of the habit.
